Restoring Aero after random switch to Basic

Restoring Aero after random switch to Basic

It starting irking me when my Windows 7 would start to switch between Aero to Basic but doesn’t switch back until either a restart or relogging in. Not that it bothers me that much since boot times are great with SSD’s but its the inconvenience of saving all my work and then doing so. So I searched the web for a fix to this, there is a couple ways but the stupid simple methods didn’t work for me and as with everything I seem to have a problem with, if you want to fix something, you have to get your hands dirty. In this particular sure-fire fix I had to do a quick tweak in the Registry followed by some command console to have this problem 100% completely rectified.

  1. Pull up start menu and type in “regedit” and hit enter
  2. Go to: HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software/Microsoft/Windows/DWM
  3. Change Composition Data from 0 to 1
  4. Change CompositionPolicy Data from 0 to 2
  5. Exit regedit
  6. Pull up start menu and type “cmd”
  7. Right click on the search result and “run-as administrator”
  8. The command console app should open
  9. Enter “net stop uxsms”
  10. Wait until you can type again
  11. Enter “net start uxsms”
  12. Voila should restore your Aero features

Figure collecting, what happened?

Figure collecting, what happened?

It so happens just the other day I was on my favorite figure website taking a good look into the latest releases. I stopped collecting them for a bit as it is quite an expensive hobby, if I went on collecting my last list could have put a unnecessary $800 USD hole in my wallet, I figured among anything else I’d spend that money on something much more productive or at least some where that could use those funds.

Google Chrome should do this…

Google Chrome should do this… Google Chrome should do this…

Being an avid user of Google Chrome, I spend a minimum of 17 hours on Google Chome a day which makes me a power user. I use Chrome Beta for the Google Android on cellular and mobile devices. There was one thing that irked me when using Google Apps and all the Google related software services or “apps” as most people would call it and it’s basically making their services more accessible.

One of those moments

One of those moments

Feels great having a short time to just post my thoughts briefly before I begin working again. It’s been a busy week, looks like I was finally able to sell my home, was originally going for $269,883, ended up going for $274,000 and now I’m sitting here waiting for the new buyers to show up so I can pass them the keys.

For a first time renovation project, one couldn’t have asked for a better deal. Aside from that, I managed to pick up a side renovation job and let me tell you, wacky as it may seem, this might be the first and last renovation job I’ll ever undertake.

Eureka 7 AO First Impressions

Eureka 7 AO First Impressions

Turns out I squealed like a little girl deep down inside of me when I saw that Eureka 7 was going to get a sequel but I didn’t imagine it’ll turn out to be anything like what I saw in the first two episodes. While there has been lots of mixed feelings about this series thus far, I for one am perched right in the middle of the fence. 25 Episode sequel? Can it top its predecessor?  A lot of people are worried that Bone’s will flop this series but can they? Guess time will tell.
